Although not directly related to Pokemon GO, Christmas is often the period of the year when Pokemon marketing efforts converge in the same direction, featuring similar, if not the same, Pokemon, merchandise and more.

The recent Pokemon Duel update suggests that Delibird, Sceptile and Pikachu are at the core of the Pokemon Company’s marketing efforts for 2017 Holiday season. With the recent addition of Delibird’s signature move Present, we are quite sure that Delibird will be released in Pokemon GO this season.

We are basing our claim on a few solid arguments:

●Delibird’s signature move Present was added in 0.85.1, similar to how Ditto’s Transform was added prior to its release
●Full support for the Present fast move is in the APK, including the sound effects and required textures

●The new Holiday 2017 loading screen features a flying present and a suspicious red ball hiding behind the Christmas tree, as spotted on Twitter

In addition, in a recent interview with TechCrunch, Niantic’s Archit Bhargava has confirmed that a holiday event is planned in Pokemon GO, starting some time around December 21st.
